One of the first of Alfred Hitchcock's characteristic thrillers. London's being terrorized by an unknown bomber, and movie theatre cashier Sylvia Sidney begins to fear that her husband (Oscar Homolka) is behind it all. Hitch was still experimenting, and his use of shadows and sound effects betrays the influence of German silent films.
