The quintessential shocker, which started a whole genre of films about psychotic killers enacting mayhem on innocent victims, still holds up well today. If all you can remember about this film is its famous murder of Janet Leigh in the shower, you might want to give it a second look. Anthony Perkins's performance and the ease with which Hitchcock maneuvers your emotions make Psycho far superior to the numerous films that tried to duplicate it.
